This brand is one of the newest in the automobile marketplace, and Toyota hope it gains a significant foothold in the United States. The Scion brand is Toyota’s latest attempt to break into the economy-priced vehicle arena, which many automobile manufacturers have to do in these current times. The Scion name, means the descendant of a family or heir, and refers not only to the brand, but of their owners.
Toyota brought Scion to California in 2003, where it has its headquarters in Torrace, California, with two economy-priced smaller models, the xA hatchback and xB wagon. In 2004, Scion went nationwide, they added the tC Sport Coupe in 2005, the xD replaced the xA in 2008, and added sales to Canada in 2010.
