Plymouth Windshield

Plymouth got its start in the automobile business in 1928, as the Chrysler Corporation wanted to get a brand into the economy-priced field, which, at that time, was completely dominated by Chevrolet and the Ford Motor Company.  At that time, the Plymouth was priced a bit higher than its two competitors, but offered an incredible feature the others couldn’t, with that feature being hydraulic brakes.  It was in 1928, that Chrysler reintroduced their “52” car, with a slight redesign, to become the Chrysler-Plymouth Model Q, which was Plymouth’s first car.

The name, Plymouth, interestingly enough, came from the Plymouth Binder Twine, which, at the time, was a very popular twine among farmers.Plymouth vehicles have always been a very dependable car, but since the 1970’s have always been versions of Chrysler, Dodge or Mitsubishi models.  This lack of identity hurt the brand, and negatively impacted sales.  Chrysler tried different strategies, but in 2001 decided to phase out the Plymouth marque.  Their famed Neon model became a Dodge brand, and the PT Cruiser, which was originally slated to be a Plymouth vehicle, was launched under the Chrysler brand.

Plymouth models include, but are not limited to, the Plymouth Acclaim, the Plymouth Colt Wagon, the Plymouth Prowler, the Plymouth Breeze, the Plymouth Gran Fury, the Plymouth Reliant, the Plymouth Caravelle, the Plymouth Horizon, the Plymouth Reliant Wagon, the Plymouth Colt, the Plymouth Laser, the Plymouth Sundance, the Plymouth Colt Vista, the Plymouth Neon, the Plymouth Grand Voyager, the Plymouth Laser, and the Plymouth Voyager.
